Trying this again:-)

I've been really bad about blogging lately. This was a pretty rough school year for me and I've been enjoying my summer. But, it's getting close to September and time to get back to the grind. I've switched schools and will be returning to the classroom. After being out for 4 years, I'm ready to get back into the thick of things. I'm also looking forward to a fresh start in a new building:-)

I have done some scrapping this summer and I FINALLY finished all of my albums from our 7000mile roadtrip from 2008. There are 8(!) of them, but each is quite different and 1 is actually for my parents;-)

All of them :-)

Route 66 album

Parents' paper bag album

Inside paper bag album

Box o' board books album

One of the board books -- 12 total, one for each state we visited

Artsy acrylic album

Inside -- envelopes hold copies of the emails I sent out along the trip

It was very nice to get these albums done and to be able to clear out all of the 'stuff' I had been holding onto for these;-) Now, on to the next project(s)!

Getting back to (ab)normal;-)

I had surgery last week to get rid of a 5mm kidney stone. How can something so teeny cause SO much pain?! I've been home for almost 2 weeks and I (hopefully) will return to school tomorrow! I have been able to use this time to get some scrappin' projects done, so pics will be coming shortly. Off to the dr in a bit to make sure I get the all clear for tomorrow:-)

Ugh!

Kidney stones suck! This is my 26th stone and I'm kinda done. Hopefully this is it and I can get back to my regularly scheduled life;-)

Make a list Monday 3/8/10

Oscar Night -- Who did you love?

1. Sandra Bullock -- loved her dress and she's just so fun and sweet.
2. John Hughes tribute -- I was laughing and crying!
3. Jeff Bridges -- well-deserved win!
4. Jennifer Lopez -- surprisingly I liked her dress;-)
5. Helen Mirren -- she is one classy lady!
6. Queen Latifah -- wow!
7. Co-stars talking about best actor and actress nominees -- nice touch!

Other than that, it was a ho-hum show.

Any thoughts?!

3/1 Make a list Monday

I'm a list maker -- big time! I don't function without one. I wake up in the middle of the night and make lists. It's a disease;-) So, I thought I'd put this habit to good use. Each Monday, I'll post a topic and my own list. I'm not setting a specific # of items for the lists -- just whatever comes to mind. These will go on the fronts of my Project 365 weekly folders.

Wanna join me?! Feel free to comment with your list or leave a link to your blog post.

So, without further ado...

Today's topic: List your favorite concerts

1. Garth Brooks -- saw him in Baton Rouge and he opened with that song -- the place went nuts!
2. Reba McEntire -- she is an amazing entertainer
3. George Michael and the Bangles (it was my 1st, so it ranks;-))
4. Stone Temple Pilots -- Scott Weiland in a handstand (with band members holding his feet) singing "Dead and Bloated"!
5. Pearl Jam -- Just after Ten was released; amazing show
6. Restless Heart -- small show at Mudbug's
7. The Cure -- Janine and I dressed in all black; I remember our outfits more than the show;-)

I know there's more, but those are the first ones that popped into my head. What's your faves?

Busy girl!

I was finally feeling better this weekend and I spent most of it in my scraproom catching up on projects from the classes that I took at CKC earlier in the month.

This class was called "Life is a Journey" and was taught by Technique Tuesday's owner. It was probably my favorite class because it really pushed me to try some new stamping techniques. I think I spent more time on this album than I ever have for a mini album, but I'm in love with the final product! The pics are some of my faves from our 2008 road trip.

I made these 12 cards in a very fast-paced class from Heartstring Designs. I even decided to give their card club kit a try after taking this class:-)

This was Eric's Valentine's Day / Anniversary present. The class was from Awesome Albums and was an "All About Him" blackboard album. I really liked the colors and enjoying working with the black chipboard (a 1st for me).

In addition to working on those projects, I desperately needed to get caught up on my Project 365 folders -- I was a month behind! These are the 4 covers with my "10 on Tuesday" prompts. The author of that blog hasn't posted since the 1st week of January, so I've been going through the archives for topics and even made up some of my own. I decided that I'm now going to post my own "Make a list Monday" topics and use those for my covers instead. Feel free to join me:-)

Okay, that's really enough for now!
